St. Croix - In a move that is of little surprise to industry insiders, Port Hamilton Refinery and Transportation LLLP, issued a recent press release stating it “is reevaluating its staffing needs as part of its longstanding efforts to ensure its operations are efficient and cost-effective. This reevaluation could include temporary changes to human resources,” Fermin Rodriguez, VP & Refinery Manager stated in the release. “At the same time, Port Hamilton continues to carefully monitor its idle refinery to ensure it is maintained in a safe and environmentally compliant manner, consistent with its regulatory obligations.”
At the Government House Press Briefing, that same day, on St. Croix, which preceded Port Hamilton’s Press Release, the Bryan-Roach Administration was asked by a media outlet about word spreading across the island concerning impending layoffs at the Refinery. A spokesperson for the Administration stated that, at that time, they had no knowledge of any layoffs.
This is a breaking story. Stay in touch with the St. Croix Times for the latest updates.
