ST. Croix - The Virgin Islands Territorial Management Agency (VITEMA) in partnership with the Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Services, the Department of Public Works (DPW), the Office of ADA Coordinator, and the Department of Human Services has announced the Territory-wide sandbag distribution program for the 2025 hurricane season. This comprehensive distribution will serve all districts across the USVI and represents the only sandbag distribution for the 2025 hurricane season.
Distribution Schedule:
Government and Semi-Autonomous Agencies - Date: August 20, 2025
Location: Same location and times as General Public Distribution
General Public Distribution - Fire Stations
Dates: August 21, 22, and 23, 2025
Times: 8am - 3pm
Requirements: Bring identification and your own shovel
Department of Public Works Sites -
Dates: August 21 and 22, 2025 (Closed Saturday August 23)
Times: 8am - 4pm (with lunch break from 12pm -1pm)
Requirements: Bring identification and your own shovel
Access & Functional Needs + Aging Community -
Call-in Period: August 11-14, 2025 (to be placed on delivery list)
Time: 9am - 3pm
Delivery Dates: August 18-19, 2025

Note: On Saturday August 23, only fire stations will be open for distribution
St. Croix - Department of Public Works Estate Anna’s Hope; Department of Public Works Concordia Site; Cotton Valley Fire Station; and Grove Station Fire Station
Important Distribution Information -
Household limit: Each household may receive only up to 6 sandbags
Fill your own: All participants must bring their own shovel and fill their own sandbags
New Bags Available: Residents who have sand from last year and only need new bags can obtain them during the scheduled distribution times and dates.
