Barbados - In the months following USVI Governor Albert Bryan Jr.’s historic trip to Accra, Ghana, Air Peace has begun a direct scheduled flight route linking West Africa to the Caribbean, operating out of Lagos (LOS) and Accra (ACC) to Antigua (ANU) and Barbados (BGI). The transatlantic service eliminates the need for lengthy layovers in North America and Europe.

The service operates twice monthly, specifically on the last two Mondays of each month. Flights originate in Lagos, Nigeria, with a stopover in Accra, Ghana, before crossing the Atlantic to Antigua and Barbados.

The route is serviced by a wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft featuring Business, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins. The airline offers generous baggage allowances tailored for travelers moving between two regions.

The landmark service makes Air Peace the first airline in West and Central Africa to offer nonstop Caribbean holidays from Africa, bridging continents and cultures like never before. Air Peace promises to offer world-class comfort and spacious cabins, with meals inspired by both African and Caribbean cuisines; along with genuine hospitality on every flight, blending Nigerian warmth, Caribbean charm, and international excellence offering the traveler a unique multi-cultural experience.

USVI Governor Albert Bryan Jr. led a historic official delegation to Accra, Ghana in late November 2025. The trip was the first official visit by a sitting U.S. Governor of African descent and focused on building trans-Atlantic partnerships in trade, technology, and tourism. Governor Bryan discussed a proposed “Diaspora Link” transatlantic fiber-optic cable project, designed to connect West Africa, the Caribbean, and the U.S. mainland to boost digital trade and technical infrastructure.

The delegation met with Ghanaian officials, including then-President John Dramani Mahama, to explore new pathways for investment, manufacturing, and shipping between the African continent and the U.S. Territory. The Governor also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ghana Tourism Authority to deepen strategic cooperation between Ghana and the USVI.

Air Peace was founded in 2004 by Nigerian lawyer and businessman Allen Onyema, flying Dornier 328s and Boeing 737s. The airline offers flights throughout Africa, India, Saudi Arabia, and London.

Check with the airline for visa, health and entry requirements.
