Governor Bryan Congratulates Governor-elect Stacey Plaskett,  Lieutenant Governor-elect Milton Potter and Election Winners

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Governor Albert Bryan Jr. congratulated Governor-elect Stacey  Plaskett, Lieutenant Governor-elect Milton Potter and all winners of Tuesday’s elections,  thanked voters for participating in the democratic process and expressed appreciation to the  staff and volunteers of the Election System of the Virgin Islands.

“I extend my congratulations to Governor-elect Stacey Plaskett, Lieutenant Governor-elect  Milton Potter and all those elected to serve the people of the Virgin Islands,” Governor Bryan  said. “Public service is a profound responsibility, and earning the confidence of the people is  an honor that carries an obligation to lead with integrity, listen with respect and work toward  the common good.”

Governor Bryan thanked Virgin Islanders who cast their ballots and acknowledged all  candidates who offered themselves for public service.

“To every Virgin Islander who voted, thank you for making your voice heard and helping  shape the future of our Territory,” Governor Bryan said. “Your participation gives our  democracy its strength. I also thank every candidate who stepped forward to serve and the  families who supported them throughout this campaign.”

The Governor recognized election personnel, poll workers and volunteers for the preparation,  long hours and dedication required to conduct the election.

“Our election staff and volunteers perform an essential public service,” he said. “Their  commitment makes it possible for our people to exercise their right to vote, and they deserve  our gratitude and respect.”

Governor Bryan emphasized that the work of government continues beyond any election or  individual term in office, with each generation of leaders entrusted to advance the Territory’s  interests.

“Government is perpetual, and each of us entrusted to serve has a responsibility to leave our  islands stronger than we found them,” Governor Bryan said. “We look forward to seeing  Governor-elect Plaskett, Lieutenant Governor-elect Potter and our next elected leaders carry  the torch forward, build on the progress we have achieved and create new opportunities for  the people of the Virgin Islands.”

The Governor encouraged residents to look ahead with a shared commitment to the  Territory’s future.

“These islands are our shared home, and we all have a part in shaping their future,” Governor  Bryan said. “As we look ahead, let us draw strength from our community, support those  called to serve and continue working together to improve the lives of our people. May God  bless our elected leaders and the people of the United States Virgin Islands.”
