Governor’s Digital Conference to Advance Vision for a More  Modern, Connected Virgin Islands

Three-day conference will focus on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity,  workforce development, data and improving the delivery of government services

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Governor Albert Bryan Jr. will convene government leaders,  technology partners and industry professionals October 7–9 for the Governor’s Digital  Conference 2026, a three-day gathering focused on using technology, innovation and new  partnerships to improve government services and prepare the Virgin Islands for an  increasingly digital economy.

The conference, to be held at The Westin Beach Resort & Spa on St. Thomas, will explore  artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data strategy, workforce development and emerging  technologies, with an emphasis on how those tools can make government more accessible,  efficient and responsive to residents.

“The world is changing, and government has to change with it,” Governor Bryan said. “We  cannot continue doing things the same way simply because that is the way they have always  been done. This is about bringing the right people together, having the right conversations  and using technology in ways that make government work better for the people we serve.”

Organized around the themes Connect, Transform and Deliver, the conference is designed  to move participants from conversation and collaboration to practical strategies that can  strengthen government operations and expand opportunities for Virgin Islanders.

Wednesday, October 7, will focus on Connect, bringing together government leaders,  technology partners and professionals to exchange ideas and establish relationships around  the future of digital government. The opening day will conclude with a welcome reception at  the Seacliff Terrace.

On Thursday, October 8, the conference shifts to Transform, examining the leadership,  technology, partnerships and workforce needed to sustain digital modernization. Sessions will  address leadership through transformation, cybersecurity and resilience, public safety, digital

services and the workforce of the future. The program will also include an Innovation  Showcase, keynote presentation and The Great Debate, featuring differing perspectives and  live audience participation.

The final day, Friday, October 9, will focus on Deliver, turning ideas into action through  discussions on governance, artificial intelligence, local innovation and data strategy. Sessions  will include live AI demonstrations focused on real-world challenges, a Solution  Marketplace, the Digital Excellence Awards and Foundation for the Next Administration |  Made in the VI.

The conference will conclude with Vision 2030: From Today to Tomorrow, connecting the  discussions and strategies developed during the three days to the Territory’s longer-term  direction.

Governor Bryan said digital transformation must extend beyond purchasing new technology  and include investments in people, cybersecurity, effective use of data and the ability of  government to adapt as technology evolves.

“Technology is only one part of this,” Governor Bryan said. “What matters is what we do  with it. We have to develop our people, strengthen our cybersecurity, use our data wisely and  make sure Virgin Islanders can participate in and benefit from the digital economy. We are  building the foundation today for the Virgin Islands we want to see tomorrow.”

Artificial intelligence will be a significant part of that conversation, with conference sessions  examining both its practical applications and the responsibilities that come with adopting  rapidly evolving technology.

The Governor said the conference builds on the Administration’s broader effort to modernize  government while preparing the Territory for the economic and workforce opportunities that  technology will continue to create.

“We have spent years rebuilding physical infrastructure across the Virgin Islands, but we also  have to build the infrastructure of the future,” Governor Bryan said. “That means investing in  our people, our technology, our data and our ability to innovate. The real measure of this  conference will not simply be the conversations we have, but what we take from those  conversations and put into action.”
