Middle East - A senior Iranian security official, Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, warned U.S. President Trump: “The Ashura-loving nation of Iran does not fear your paper threat. Even those greater than you could not eliminate the Iranian nation. Watch out for yourself - lest you be eliminated!”

Mr. Larijani was responding to Trump saying he would hammer Iran if it blocked the Strait of Hormuz, a critical energy point in the Gulf.

“If Iran does anything that stops the flow of Oil within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the United States of America TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far,” the President wrote on Truth Social.

Larijani is a former Revolutionary Guard and one of the most influential politicians within Iran’s regime, which has appointed a new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of former ruler Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who was killed in an Israeli air strike on the opening day of the war which is now in its eleventh day. The appointment shows the resolve of the Iranian regime to remain in power.

In his post Trump added: “Additionally, we will take out easily destroyable targets that will make it virtually impossible for Iran to ever be built back, as a Nation, again - Death, Fire, and Fury will reign upon them - But I hope, and pray, that it does not happen!”

The U.S. - Israeli war against Iran has driven up gas prices globally, over 50 cents a gallon in the States, though they eased after Trump signaled a possible end to the conflict.

Against a backdrop of some of the heaviest US - Israeli bombing since the conflict began, President Trump, at a press conference at his golf club, Trump National Doral, near Miami, said “the war against Iran will end very soon, but not this week.” He also predicted that oil prices, which had surged to over $100 per barrel, from $70 per barrel. based on fears that the Strait of Hormuz would remain effectively closed, will drop back down to more acceptable levels.

He touted the destruction of more than 50 Iranian Naval ships, and the decimation of its air force and anti-aircraft defenses.

“We’re achieving major strides toward completing our military objective,” Trump said. “We’ve wiped every single force in Iran out, very completely…They have no leadership. It’s all been blown up.”

He proceeded to threaten further military action if he deems it necessary, and said the U.S. has not yet hit some of Iran’s most sensitive targets, including its electricity infrastructure. He said the war would be over when Iran no longer had the capacity to use weapons against the U.S., Israel and other allies for a long time.
