St. Croix - Commissioner Jean Pierre L. Oriel of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) is pleased to announce that the Talking Books Library will host its next “Book Club with Nina Garcia” on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 10 am, at the Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Challenged, now located within the Florence Williams Library in Christiansted.
This month’s featured title is Blood Moon by Sandra Brown. The event will also mark a special milestone: the Fourth Anniversary of the Book Club with Nina Garcia.
“We are proud to continue offering inclusive and engaging programs like the Book Club with Nina Garcia through the Talking Books Library,” said Amy Parker DeSorbo, Territorial Director of DPNR’s Libraries, Archives & Museums Division. “This monthly gathering not only promotes literacy and community connection but also reinforces our commitment to provide accessible resources and opportunities for all individuals. Congratulations to everyone who has been part of this inspiring journey - especially our Librarian II and Founder, Nina Garcia.”
New York Times #1 Bestselling author Sandra Brown’s Blood Moon is a sexy thriller about an unruly detective and an ambitious TV show producer working against the clock to prevent another young woman from disappearing before the next blood moon - while trying to resist the attraction between them.
The Book Club meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 10 am, offering a welcoming space for readers of all abilities to connect and share their love of books.
