15-Year old Boy Murdered on STT

St. Thomas - At around 2:15 pm on Friday, June 12, 2026, ShotSpotter Detection System alerted 911 of multiple gunshots recorded in the area of Vester Gade in St. Thomas. Shortly after, a concerned citizen called 911 and reported that a male victim had sustained gunshot wound injuries. 

     

When police arrived on the scene, they found 15-year old Tre’Vante Etienne still alive but with multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately taken via ambulance to Schneider Regional Medical Center’s ER where Doctors tried to save the young man’s life. He was subsequently pronounced dead from his gunshot injuries.

     

He was identified by next of kin as a resident of St. Thomas, 15-year old Tre’Vante Etienne.

     

As of this time, the VIPD has no suspects or motives for the murder. It is being investigated by the Major Crimes Unit.
