2 Shot Dead at Luna Bar in Peter’s Rest Shootout on STX

St. Croix - On Sunday, June 6, 2026, at around 3:45 am, the Virgin Islands Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call Center report of a shooting incident at Luna Bar in Peter’s Rest on St. Croix. Officers arriving on the scene found two men dead from fatal gunshot wounds and two other males injured.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a verbal altercation led to the shooting incident.
The two men who were murdered were identified by family members as 31-year old Wahili James and 34-year old Samuel Rivera. The two gunshot victims who were wounded and transported to Juan F. Luis Hospital’s ER, were a minor, and a 30-year old male. Both were reported in stable condition
This is an active investigation. The Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) is requesting that anyone with information regarding the incident to contact 911, the CIB at 340-778-2211, or Crime Stoppers VI at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
