4-Yr-Old Gunshot Victim Dies on STX, VIPD Investigates

St. Croix - The Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) is investigating the death of a four-year old boy who sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The 911 Emergency Call Center received notification on Thursday July 16, 2026, at 7:01 pm, of a boy who was a gunshot victim. 

     

The child was transported to Juan F. Luis Hospital for emergency medical treatment, but despite lifesaving efforts, the four-year old, who has yet to be identified, succumbed to his injuries. 

     

At this time, there is little known as to the exact circumstances or location of how and where the tragedy occurred. The Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation to determine the details of the tragic incident. At this stage of their investigation, no determination has been issued to the public.
