Arrest for Attempted Murder

St. Croix - On March 1, 2025, at approximately 6:18pm, ShotSpotter reported 13 rounds fired in the vicinity of the Estate Carlton area. Then the 911 Emergency Call Center reported shots were fired at a male victim, who was traveling to the police station to file a report. 

     

On June 27, 2025, a search and arrest warrant were obtained from the Superior Court. On June 29, 2025, the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) and Special Operation Bureau members executed the warrants and 27-year old Ajani Poree was arrested and advised of his Miranda Rights. Mr. Poree was charged with Attempted Murder in the first degree, Assault in the third degree, Unauthorized possession of a firearm during the crime of violence, Possession of ammunition, Discharging or aiming firearms and Reckless endangerment in the first degree. 

     

Mr. Poree was booked and unable to post his $100,000 bail. He was transported to John A. Bell Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility where he was remanded pending his Advice of Rights Hearing on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the Superior Court.
