    Fiery Truck Crash

     St. Thomas - The 911 Emergency Call Center received a call on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at around 3 pm reporting an accident involving a truck and a motorcycle. They were also notified that the bike had burst into flames and the rider had been ejected. 

     Responding Officers arrived on the scene and observed an unresponsive male lying on the ground near the New Hernhut sign on Weymouth Rhymer Highway. 

     Preliminary investigation revealed that the bike collided into the truck, then struck a vehicle traveling in the opposite lane and subsequently caught on fire. 

     The male sustained life-threatening injuries and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was identified by next of kin as 26-year old Darlin Arias. 

     The collision is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Bureau (TIB). Anyone with any information concerning the collision  please call the TIB at 340-774-2211.
