Car Crash Near Kingshill Cemetery Leaves Man Dead

St. Croix - On June 30, 2026, at around 7:00 pm, the 911 Emergency Call Center notified a Traffic Investigation Bureau officer of a one-vehicle automobile collision that occurred on the eastern shoulder of the southbound lane on Kingshill Road (Route 663) in the vicinity of the Kingshill Cemetery.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver was operating his red 2007 Nissan Sentra from north to south on Kingshill Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle while driving along the curve and collided into a utility pole located on the eastern shoulder of the southbound lane.
The driver sustained injuries to his head and was taken for treatment via ambulance to the Juan F. Luis Hospital Emergency Room.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Next of kin identified the driver as 59-year old Kenneth Belony.
This case remains open and under investigation by the Virgin Islands Police Department Traffic Investigation Bureau, St. Croix District.
