Car Crash On Midland Road Kills Unseat belted Driver

St. Croix - On Tuesday night, August 11, 2026, at around 9 pm the 911 Emergency Call Center notified the Traffic Investigation Bureau that there had been a violent collision on Midland Road in St. Croix.
When investigators arrived on the scene, the Fire and Emergency Medical Services were already providing medical assistance to the man inside his vehicle.
According to VIPD, the driver of a 1992 Honda Civic hatchback veered off Midland Road, Route 72, moving off to the western shoulder of the eastbound roadway, and crashed head-on into a concrete culvert wall just west of Estate Coble. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene due to the force of the collision.
The driver was identified by next of kin as 41-year old Olrick R. Harris.
His body was removed from the scene by Department of Justice personnel. No other information is available at this time.
VIPD Traffic Investigation Bureau, St Croix District, is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
