Car Shot Up Near Divi Casino, Male Wounded

St. Croix - On Friday, February 13, 2026, just after midnight, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call in reference to multiple shots fired in the vicinity of Divi Carina Bay Casino, on the far east side of the island. Moments later, 911 received another call reporting a gunshot victim.
When Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) officers arrived on the scene, they observed a vehicle riddled with multiple bullet holes that had crashed into a palm tree. A large amount of casings were found up the road from the entrance to the Divi Carina Bay Hotel.
The victim, not yet to be identified, was transported by private vehicle to the Juan F. Luis Hospital emergency room. The adult male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the left side of his abdomen. He was admitted to the hospital and currently is in stable condition.
The case is under active investigation. The VIPD urges anyone with information on the incident to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-778-2211 or Crime Stoppers VI at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
