St. Croix - V.I. Attorney General Gordon C. Rhea announced that Cecile Douglas, 44, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison following his conviction for Aggravated Rape in the First Degree, two counts of Unlawful Sexual Contact in the First Degree, and Child Abuse involving a child victim.
The criminal acts occurred on St. Croix between 2019 and February 2022.
Mr. Douglas was sentenced on September 16, 2026, by the Honorable Ernest E. Morris, Jr. of the Virgin Islands Superior Court. The sentence followed a June 30, 2026, jury verdict finding Mr. Douglas guilty on all four counts.
The case was prosecuted on behalf of the People of the Virgin Islands by former V.I. Department of Justice Director of the White Collar Crime and Public Corruption Unit Patricia Lynn Pryor and Assistant Attorney General Katia Maria Bouza.
“The Department of Justice remains committed to protecting children, holding offenders accountable, and seeking justice for victims of sexual violence,” Attorney General Rhea said.
