CIB Arrests One of Two Altona Lagoon Robbers

St. Croix - Members of the Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) and Special Operations Bureau (SOB) arrested 34-year old Abdul Pemberton for Robbery First, Carrying of Firearms Openly or Concealed, and other related firearm charges. The arrest involved a robbery that occurred at Altoona Lagoon in Christiansted.
On July 12, 2026, at around 3 am, a male arrived at the Ancilmo Marshall Command Police Station to report a robbery that took place at Altona Lagoon.
An investigation followed the incident which was conducted by a CIB Detective that eventually revealed that Abdul Pemberton was a suspect in the crime.
A Superior Court Judge subsequently signed search and arrest warrants for Abdul Pemberton.
CIB and SOB executed the search and arrest warrants on October 6, 2026, at Mr. Pemberton’s residence. During the search, ammunition was discovered and Mr. Pemberton was also charged for Possession of Ammunition.
His bail was set at $75,000. Mr. Pemberton was booked and transported to the John Bell Adult Correction Facility pending his Advice of Rights Hearing.
The other suspect in the robbery currently remains at large.
