DPNR DIVISION OF LIBRARIES, ARCHIVES AND MUSEUMS INVITES COMMUNITY TO JOIN STX ANIME CLUB
Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources announces that the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums, in partnership with Oné Carrington, will host the first meeting of the STX Anime Club on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Florence Williams Public Library in Christiansted.
Carrington, an anime and manga enthusiast for more than 15 years, has volunteered at several anime conventions in Atlanta and is excited to help create a similar space for fans on St. Croix.
Anime lovers of all ages are invited to celebrate Halloween with an afternoon of anime, manga, gaming, trading cards and more. Featured anime screenings, suitable for audiences ages 8 and older, will include Pokémon, Sailor Moon and Sonic X.
Attendees are encouraged to bring manga, merchandise, gaming consoles or trading cards to share, swap and enjoy. Cosplay is encouraged and welcomed. Guests may also want to bring a light jacket or blanket, as the library can be cool.
“Libraries are spaces where people can discover new interests, be creative and build community,” said Amy Parker DeSorbo, Director of the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums. “The STX Anime Club gives fans of all ages a fun place to connect and share their love of anime and manga.”
