ST. Croix - On Thursday, July 17, 2025, at around 4:42 pm, VIPD Officers responded to a call from 911 Emergency Call Center, regarding a domestic dispute between a mother requesting assistance with her adult son’s behavior in LBJ Gardens.
Responding Officers made contact with the mother and son. However, shortly after, a struggle broke-out between the son and both Officers who had responded to the scene. At the time, one of the Officers discharged their firearm striking the male once. Details are sketchy from that point. But the son succumbed to the injuries he sustained from the shot fired from the Officer’s gun.
The deceased was identified as 48-year old Alejandro Torres III.
This is an ongoing investigation, and both Officers were placed on administrative leave pending further investigation.
