Gunfight Explodes Near Carlos Bar STX

St. Croix - Over two-hundred rounds of ammunition were fired in a gunfight that took place in the vicinity of Carlos Bar in Christiansted on St. Croix just before dawn on Sunday March 29, 2026. Two individuals with gunshot wounds were transported to Juan F. Luis Hospital by private vehicle.

At around 4:50 am, the 911 Emergency Communications Center received a ShotSpotter notification indicating over 200 rounds were fired in the Peter’s Rest area near Carlos Bar. Shortly after the notification, multiple residents in the area contacted 911 reporting a significant amount of gunfire being discharged. 

Personnel from the hospital also notified authorities that two gunshot victims were admitted into the Emergency Room and were receiving medical treatment for gunshot injuries sustained during the vicious gun battle. 

VIPD officers, along with detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) and the Forensic Unit, responded to both the scene and the hospital. 

The incident remains actively under investigation. The VIPD is asking for the community’s assistance.
