Hit & Run and Physical Assaults on STX: Suspect Identified

St. Croix - The Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) has been investigating a series of vehicular hit and run and physical assaults that have taken place over the past few weeks. With a recent incident on Friday, November 28, 2025, in LaGrange, Frederiksted at around 6:30 am, where a woman was physically attacked causing injuries. Another incident occurred on October 23, 2025, at about 5:55 pm, at the Villa La Reine, Pueblo parking lot, where a pedestrian was hit by a white Mercedes Benz sedan and the driver fled the scene. 

     

Cleo Taylor, 39, has been identified as a person of interest in both incidents. Ms. Taylor is a Black female with a brown complexion, brown hair, brown eyes, standing at about 5’4”, weighing approximately 155 pounds. She frequents LaGrange, Frederiksted and Frederiksted Town.

     

The VIPD is currently investigating other reports in reference to a white Mercedes Benz sedan striking citizens throughout St. Croix. The vehicle was impounded shortly after the latest incident at Ms. Taylor’s residence by the Police Department, and an arrest is pending.
