Male and Female Shot at Lorraine Village Suspect Sought ***UPDATE!!! Suspect Arrested by VIPD and is now in custody

St. Croix - On June 29, 2026, at around 8:48 am, the St. Croix Emergency Call Center received a report that a male and female were shot multiple times at Lorraine Village, St. Croix. 

VIPD and Emergency Medical Services personnel were dispatched to the scene. 

Both victims were transported to Juan F. Luis Hospital via ambulance and treated for their wounds. They both remain in stable condition.

VIPD is searching for the suspect, 22-year old Janigh Gonsalves, who is wanted in connection to the shooting. He is described as a black male with light complexion, weighs approximately 125 pounds, stands at about 5’6” and has black hair in a twisted style, brown eyes, and has a birthmark on his chest. Mr. Gonsalves frequents Lorraine Village, Aureo Diaz and Grove Place. He is also known to be armed and dangerous.
