Male Arrested for Alleged Rape of Minor on STT

St. Thomas - On Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 5 pm, Detectives and Officers of the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) were dispatched to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital in reference to a rape. Upon arrival, contact was made with the minor female victim and her mother.
The victim stated that the incident occurred at her residence on December 12, 2025, during a power outage, on St. Thomas, between the hours of 11:00 pm and 3:00 am. She also stated that the suspect, Jahkeim Bourgeois, used physical force to overcome resistance and forcefully penetrated her.
On Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 4 pm, while executing an arrest warrant for Mr. Bourgeois, Officers from the Intel Unit and Special Operations Bureau discovered the Mr. Bourgeois was in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Jahkeim Bourgeois, 18, was then placed under arrest, booked, processed and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his Advice of Rights Hearing.
He was charged with Aggravated Rape in the First Degree, Unlawful Sexual Conduct in the First Degree, Child Abuse, and Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm. His bail was set at $75,000.
