Man Murdered on Fortuna Bay Beach STT

St. Thomas - At just before 6 pm on Thursday September 24, 2026, concerned citizens contacted the 911 Emergency Call Center to report there was an unresponsive male lying on Fortuna Bay Beach, which is located on a remote shoreline on the western end of St. Thomas.
Responding VIPD Officers arrived on the scene and observed an unresponsive adult black male who appeared to have suffered at least one gunshot wound to his body.
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) also arrived on the beach scene and checked the male for vital signs and concluded he did not have any signs of life.
The man’s next of kin positively identified him as 27-year old Kyle Thomas.
The fatal shooting marks the 38th homicide in the Territory for 2026.
