Man Shot Dead at C’sted Market on Company Street

St. Croix - At around 5:49 am on Saturday May 2, 2026, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call from a Fire Department unit doing a wash down at the Christian Shan Hendricks Vegetable Market on Company Street next to the Post Office. The caller reported a male victim who was showing no signs of life.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) responded to the crime scene and found a Black male with a fatal gunshot wound to the upper body. At the time of the initial investigation there was no way to identify the victim.
The CIB has launched a further investigation into the murder and is asking that anyone in the Christiansted Town community that has any information involving the violent incident to please come forward. Call 911, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or the CIB at 340-778-2211.
