Man Shot Dead in Mon Bijou

St. Croix - On May, 12, 2026, at around 8:17 am, the St. Croix 911 Emergency Call Center received a ShotSpotter notification of numerous rounds of gunfire in the Mon Bijou area. Several citizens also reported shots being fired and that a male victim was suffering from gunshot injuries at the location.
Police Officers and Emergency Medical Technicians responded to the scene and were led to discover a male victim with gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was transported by ambulance to the Juan F. Luis Hospital Emergency Room, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased was identified by his next of kin as 47-year old Kaleem Iles.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
