Murder in La Grande Princesse on STX

St. Croix - On Sunday, September 20, 2026, in broad daylight, in the middle of the afternoon, 911 received multiple calls of discharging shots in the Princess Villas Housing Apartments in Estate La Grande Princesse. The reports spoke of an unresponsive male lying on the ground.   

VIPD and EMS personnel arrived on the scene and confirmed a male had no signs of life and had been shot to death in an exterior staircase on the grounds of the housing complex.

The deceased was identified by a family member as 29-year old Ricardo Richards. 

Although there is some speculation by certain members of the press that Mr. Richards’ execution-style murder was in retaliation for an earlier homicide which he was cleared of; there are no known suspects to the killing at this time.
