St. Thomas - On Thursday, June 25, 2026, at around 6:30 am, a concerned citizen called the 911 Emergency Call Center to report seeing a male lying on the side of the road, next to a vehicle, in the area of Mahogany Run Villas.
VIPD patrol units traveled to the scene and discovered an unresponsive male with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Emergency Medical Technicians concluded that the male did not have any vital signs.
The next of kin was notified and the man was identified as 34-year old Michiah Morton.
Investigators believe the shooting incident took place between 11:00 pm and midnight on June 24, 2026. Anyone that might have been in the area around that time and observed any suspicious activity or the presence of unknown vehicles is urged to contact the VIPD with whatever information they may have. All tips are valuable no matter how small and insignificant they may seem.
