Murder Spree Continues: 2 Dead on STT, 1 on STX

USVI - In a country that is spinning out of control with mass shootings (182 in 2026 - where 4 or more victims have been killed or injured), daily murders (estimated to be 13,500 this year in the U.S.), all of which is bolstered by the increasing belief of ‘irrational thinking people’ that the only way to solve a personal problem is to kill someone; the USVI suddenly seems caught up in a murder spree of its own, on both St. Thomas and St. Croix, now registering 20 (10 on STX, 10 on STT) homicides/gun fatalities in 2026.
On St. Croix -
At around 8:00 pm on June 16, 2026, a concerned citizen reported to the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) of a possible body located in the vicinity of the Profit Hills community on St. Croix.
The CIB along with the Special Operations Bureau went out to the scene and made a thorough check of the area. They located the body of a male lying on the ground in a heavily vegetated area north of Profit Hills. It appeared the male victim had sustained several gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on the crime scene and confirmed that the male did not have any vital signs.
The next of kin identified the deceased as 20-year old Amani Daley.
On St. Thomas - Update
At around 3:30 pm on June 16, 2026, a concerned citizen called the 911 Emergency Call Center to report gunshots fired in the area of Hospital Ground.
VIPD responded to the scene and found an unresponsive male who appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body. EMS came upon the scene and agreed that the victim did not have any vital signs.
He was identified by next of kin as 23-year old Asani Henry.
Later in the day at around 6:30 pm the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call from a concerned citizen regarding shots fired along in the Sanchez area of STT, with subsequent reports of a male victim down in the same area.
VIPD and EMS were immediately dispatched to the location. Upon their arrival, responders found an unresponsive male victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim has now been identified by next of kin as 53-year old Fitzroy W. Wattley.
The three murders remain under active investigation.
