Norfolk, VA - The 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, fired another shot across the bow of the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, with enough force to sink the world’s largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford. While recently attending a Democratic rally in Norfolk, Virginia, to show support for Abigail Spanberger, who was subsequently elected as Virginia’s first female Governor, Obama confessed even he could not have predicted the situation in modern-day America under the Republican’s rule being as bleak as it has become with Trump as President.

“It’s not as if we didn’t see some of this coming,” he told attendees. “But I will admit it’s worse than even I expected. But I did warn y’all.”

Obama accused Trump of putting his billionaire pals and finance buddies first. “Is the economy working better for you?” The former two-time President asked the crowd. “Because it sure has gotten better for Trump and his family…Since he’s been in office, the whole crypto business and other ventures have made hundreds of millions of dollars, including from foreign nationals and rich folks investing because they want to stay in the President’s good graces.”

There has never been anything but bad blood between the two political stalwarts. Obama has attacked Trump for years and Trump has been insulting him since the birthright issue days back in 2016.

“It’s like every day is Halloween,” Obama jibed, marking the day’s festivities. “Except it’s all tricks and no treats.”

Obama continued his attacks on Trump, raising issue with the $300 million dollar White House renovations, which saw Trump tearing down the entire East Wing of the historic building to build a 90,000 sf ballroom, without so much as a word of protest from Republicans.

“He has been focused on critical issues like paving over the Rose Garden so folks don’t get mud on their shoes. And gold- plating the Oval Office, along with building a $300 million ballroom.”

Obama commented on the AI generated video Trump shared last month, in which he appeared to be dumping excrement on those involved with the ‘No Kings’ protests that took place all over the country and across the globe joining together 7 million to peacefully stand up against the Trump Administration tactics and policies.

“The fabricated conspiracies, the weird videos of a U.S. President with a crown on his head flying a fighter jet and dumping poop on protesting citizens,” Obama continued to harangue. “And all the other nonsense we see on the news everyday, including his over-the-top rhetoric.”

Describing Trump’s social media uploads as attempts to distract from serious faults, Obama went on to suggest: “They do it so you won’t notice that while they’re helping the wealthiest, most powerful people in the country consolidate more wealth and power, your bills are still going up.”

While Americans are pinching their pennies amid SNAP cuts, soaring housing costs, and mass layoffs, the ultra-rich are seeing unprecedented wealth gains. A new report reveals that the 10 richest U.S. billionaires added $698 billion to their net worths in the past year. Trump’s new tax policy might very well prove another windfall for the wealthy.

“The new American oligarchy is here,” said the CEO of Oxfam America, a global organization that fights inequality to end poverty and injustice. “Billionaires and mega-corporations are booming while working families struggle to afford housing, healthcare, and groceries.”

At a rally in New Jersey for Democrat Mikie Sherrill who subsequently won the Governor’s race in that state, Obama said: Let’s be honest, our country is in a dark time. We don’t even know where to start, because every day from the White House we see a new wave of lawlessness, cruelty, and chaos.”

A ray of hope was sparked with Democratic victories in several areas of the country as the all-important House and Senate elections are now just under a year away in 2026.

“If Democrats can win both halls of Congress in 2026, it would stop Trump’s non-stop, free-for-all policy tactics dead in its tracks,” said one Democrat who preferred to remain anonymous. “Even if they can retake the House, it would put a definite crimp in his game plan.”
