The Middle East - After 25 days of continual bombings, missile and drone attacks, over a thousand dead on the streets of Iran, over 80,000 structures destroyed or damaged, and hatreds that run decades deep on both sides spilling over and reaching into the gates of hell, there appears to be some movement for an end to hostilities on the part of the Iranian regime and the Trump Administration.
An Iranian source has informed a reputable news agency that there has been an “outreach” between the United States and Tehran and that Iran is willing to listen to “sustainable” proposals to end the war.
“There has been an outreach between the United States and Iran by Washington in recent days, but nothing has reached the level of full-on negotiations,” the source said. “Messages have been received through various intermediaries to scope out whether an agreement to end the war can be reached.”
Along those same lines of communication, President Trump made the statement today, March 24, 2026, that Tehran has given the U.S. a present relating to oil and gas, though he was not specific as to what that present might be.
“They gave us a present and the present arrived today,” Trump said. “It was a very big present worth a tremendous amount of money,” he said of Iran.
Although Iran has publicly denied any sort of negotiations that are currently taking place, the Trump Administration is insistent that “productive” negotiations are underway with an unnamed top Iranian figure, a man who is very well respected in Iran.
Given the present circumstances which continue to point to there being no official public presence of a leader that has emerged to take the place of slain Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, despite the naming of Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba, as his successor, there are still continuing unconfirmed reports that Mojtaba was killed or severely injured during bombing attacks.
“We’re dealing with some people that I find to be very reasonable, very solid,” Trump said. “The people within know who they are, they’re very respected, and maybe one of them will be exactly what we’re looking for.”
Despite the intense political posturing by Tehran and Washington, and the Israelis intention to keep the war going for several more weeks, Trump has ordered the U.S. military to postpone planned strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for five days.
President Trump said that Iran has agreed to his biggest demand in order to stop the war - no nuclear weapons.
“They’ve agreed. They will never have nuclear weapons. They’ve agreed to that,” Trump claimed.
Although not publicly stating any negotiations have taken place, Iran told several countries that belong to the International Maritime Organization that “non-hostile vessels” can now transit the Strait of Hormuz. If the statement turns out to be factual, it is a significant development given that 20 million barrels of oil pass through the strait every day.
**LATE BREAKING: The Trump Administration has reportedly sent Iran a 15-point plan to end the war in the Middle East. The peace plan was shared with Iranian officials, Tuesday, March 24, 2026, via Pakistan, according to the New York Times. Sources claim that the proposal addresses Iran's ballistic and nuclear programs.
President Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner are reportedly seeking Tehran to agree to a monthlong ceasefire, during which the 15-points of the plan would be negotiated, according to Israel's Channel 12.
